  • What is tapdat?

    Tapdat is the cheeky new hookup app for iOS and Android.

    What makes it new, we hear you ask?

    Other apps encourage anonymity. Some don’t mention sex at all.

    We don’t think people should be ashamed about their desires.

    And we think making jokes about sex makes it more fun.

    Tapdat makes it simple to get your fill of whatever it is you’re into, fast.

    Human beings like sex, in all its messy, funny, complicated glory.

    Tapdat is about embracing this and having safe, consensual encounters with like-minded individuals in your area.

  • How do I use tapdat?

    Tapdat is free to download on Apple and iOS!

    Our app uses your location to find potential matches, so simply swipe away until you find someone you like and arrange to meet up.

  • How do I set up a profile?

    A Tapdat profile can be set up in a few easy steps once you’ve downloaded the app for either iOS or Android.

    Your account won’t be linked to your Facebook, but that doesn’t mean that the setup process is any more complicated than similar apps. All you need to get started with Tapdat is your name, age and email address.

  • Can I edit my profile once it’s set up?

    Your essential information is easy to edit in Tapdat, from your picture to your sexual preferences – hey, things can change!

  • Do I have to pay to use the app?

    Your Tapdat profile is completely free to sign up for and subscriptions are available from £6.99 a month. For those without a subscription, you can only view 30 users around your location each day. Subscription users can view unlimited profiles within their vicinity.

  • Can I use some features within the app for free?

    You can create an account, view nearby users and match with other users for free.

  • Can I downgrade my account at any time?

    If you have subscribed to a Tapdat unlimited subscription, you are free to cancel, change, upgrade and downgrade your subscription at any stage.

    Apple iOS

    If using Apple iOS, you can manage your subscriptions from within your Settings and iTunes app.

    Android

    If you are using Android, you can edit and change your subscription using the Google Play app.

  • How do I block a user for abusive behaviour?

    If a profile is demonstrating abusive behaviour, or the account you are viewing is deemed offensive, you can block this profile by pressing the report button when viewing their profile.

  • Do you support same-sex attraction within the app?

    Yes! Our cheeky Tapdat home screen allows you to choose whether you’re interested in men, women, or both.

    We’re also hoping to expand our range of options to reflect the full spectrum of sexuality and gender in due time!

  • What do the trust ratings mean?

    Trust ratings provide you with an indication on how trustworthy a user is. Users with a higher trust rating can be deemed as more trustworthy and better respected than those with lower ratings.

    Profiles who feature a complete bio, a smaller search radius, links to social media accounts and fewer ‘reports’ will have a higher trust rating.

  • Is there an age limit to tapdat?

    The Tapdat is aimed for users between 18 and a 100 years old.

    But if you’re 101 and want to lie about your age to get some no-strings fun, we won’t hold it against you.

  • How can I tailor who comes up to what I want to see?

    Tapdat shows nearby users based on your sexual orientation and proximity to other users. Our algorithms rank users and deliver users who are near you and who you may be interested in.

  • Can I search for a specific person or is it browse-only?

    You can not search for specific users. Tapdat shows you users around you, based on your sexual orientation and proximity to other users.

  • Can I delete messages?

    Messages automatically delete after a set period of time.

  • How do I request a copy of my personal data?

    If you need to request a copy of your personal data, please email your request to info@tapdat.co.uk. We aim to respond to all requests within 30 days.

  • How does tapdat remain GDPR compliant?

    Your data privacy is of extreme importance to us. You can view our privacy policy here.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    Tapdat does not take payments directly. Instead we use Apple’s iTunes and Google Play to take payments from you.

  • Can I change my preferences?

    You can edit and change your profile at any stage. Simply click on your profile, then tap the arrows to edit each field within your profile.

  • How do I message someone?

    If both you and another user ‘like-swipe’ each other, then you will be able to message each other for 72 hours.

  • Can I use tapdat anywhere?

    Tapdat is free to download within the UK. Whilst you can use Tapdat abroad, our users are predominantly based in the UK and this is where you will find more users to interact with.
