  • What is tapdat?

    TapDat is the easy to use, straight up, hook up app. If you’re looking to meet new people with the same interests, TapDat is the open and honest forum connecting you to likeminded individuals in your area.


    We know not everyone’s looking for long term relationships, whether for the time being or at all. So, we’re creating a community of sex positive individuals who communicate clearly about what they’re looking for.


    TapDat is your platform to connect with other likeminded adults in your chosen area, enabling safe and consensual encounters.

  • How do I use tapdat?

    Once you’ve got our handy hook up app and created your profile, we connect you to others in your chosen area, based on your location and preferences. Then it’s up to you to chat and get to know your matches.

    TapDat is free to download on both iOS and Android platforms – although you’ll have to pay for your own data/WIFI! And we have dedicated versions for the US and the UK.

  • How do I set up a profile?

    A TapDat profile can be set up in a few easy steps once you’ve downloaded the app for either iOS or Android.

    Once you’ve downloaded and opened the app, you’ll be walked through the simple steps to setting up your profile.

    You’ll need your name, age and an email address to get started, and a few pictures of your choosing.

  • Can I edit my profile once it’s set up?

    Your essential information is easy to edit in TapDat.

    Once you’re set up, you can update your profile as you wish. From changing your profile picture, to your sexual preferences. All we ask is that you’re open and honest, and having fun!

  • Do I have to pay to use tapdat?

    Sign up to TapDat is completely free, and with your free membership you’ll be able to swipe and chat to up to 30 other users in your area every day. You can keep your free membership for as long as you stay with us.

    There are some in-app upgrades that you can purchase to enhance your experience, but these are completely optional and clearly marked.

  • Which features of tapdat can I use for free?

    Our free membership allows you to view and match up with 30 users in your area every day.

    You can view, chat, and swipe within these limits every day, completely free.

  • I’ve subscribed to a subscription package – can I downgrade?

    If you’ve chosen to add one of our paid for subscription packages, you are completely free to change, cancel, or upgrade this at any time. Just be aware that once a monthly package has been paid for, cancellation within that month will not result in a partial refund.


    On Apple iOS

    Users on an apple product can make any changes by accessing the settings in the Appstore.


    On Android

    All android users can manage their subscription with TapDat through the settings within the Google Play Appstore.


  • How do I block another user?

    The safety and enjoyment of our users is paramount.

    If for any reason you feel uncomfortable about the interactions or profile of another user, just hit the report button on their profile. This will block any further interactions between you and that user, and notify our safety team.


  • Who's the app for?

    TapDat is the hook up community app, made for any and all sex positive adults.

    Our dream is to create a hub for open communication about sexual preferences, to enable safe, consensual, satisfying encounters.

    When you create your profile, you can choose your sexual preferences, which we use to show you likeminded people who could be just what you’re looking for. You tell us whether you are interested in chatting with men, women, or both.

  • Is there an age limit to using tapdat?

    We know that sexual desires have no upper age limit, so neither do we. The only age restriction we put in place is that every user is over 18, for safety and legal reasons.


  • How can I choose who I see in the app?

    Tapdat shows nearby users based on your sexual preferences and proximity to other users.

    You’ll be asked a few preference questions when you create your profile – such as sexual orientation preference, and your location preferences. Our algorithms then do their magic to show you users in your area with the same preferences. The rest is up to you.

  • What payment methods do you accept?

    We do not accept any payments directly at Tapdat – all payments are made through the Appstore and Google Play directly.

  • How do I message someone?

    If both you and another user have liked each other’s profiles, you’ll be able to message one another.

  • How do I match with someone?

    Once you’re in the app, you’ll be shown the profiles of users who meet your chosen proximity and sexual preferences. You can choose whether or not to like that person, before moving onto more profiles.

    If you and the other person both like each other’s profiles, you’ll be notified and can start to chat.

  • Can I use tapdat anywhere?

    The app is available for download in the US and UK markets.

    Whilst you can download and use the app elsewhere, these are our two biggest markets currently, and where you will have the greatest number of people to view, match and chat with.

Safety and Security FAQs

  • What do the trust ratings mean?

    Safe sexual (and non-sexual) encounters are at the heart of what we are creating. We want to create a community of honest, open individuals who feel safe to open up about their desires.


    So we have created a 100-point trust rating, which vets our users to keep you safe and encourage honesty. Profiles who feature a complete bio, a smaller search radius, links to social media accounts and fewer reports will have a higher trust rating.


  • What is a report?

    As part of our security and safety commitments, profiles and active users can be reported to us if other users find them to be dishonest or abusive.


    Depending on the type of report, our security team either mark up a report against their trust rating (perhaps for using old or misleading photos of themselves) or suspend or permanently block and delete a user profile for more serious behaviours.

  • Can I search for a specific person?

    Our app works as browse only, so you can’t search for a specific person. And no one can specifically search for you. You’ll only see other users that match your proximity and sexual preference settings.

  • Can I delete messages?

    Your last message sent can be deleted by long-pressing on the message and confirming your intention to delete.

  • I want to report something that happened in the app

    If you have a concern or wish to report an incident that has taken place within the app, please email info@tapdat.co.uk with full and complete details of your concern.

    Our customer service team will get back to you within 48 hours.

  • How can I report a fake profile?

    If you have reason to believe that an account is fake, we recommend that you block the user using the report button on that user’s profile.

    Our systems monitor the number and frequency of reports and blocks that a profile receives. If a profile receives a number of blocks, we may investigate or remove that profile.
